Backstory on Emera and Tara. Emera found Tara as a child and she was dying of blood lose. It took a while but Emeea found a way to transfer dragon blood to her. Only thing is Tara now lives as long as a dragon and could swallow things as big as a horse or bull due to that. Emera had no choice but to make the child she saved her daughter since the village leaders wouldn't let her back in knowing she was part dragon now. Emera didn't have a issue with Tara being her daughter at all and Tara didn't have a issue with Emera raising her.
